“The Squeaky Wheel” DNA of Service by Bosco Daniel

I noticed a housekeeping staff member pushing a trolley down the corridor, the loud, irritating squeak of its wheel echoing into guest rooms. Surprisingly, she seemed unbothered, and no supervisor had stepped in.

When I asked, she explained, “We’ve ordered the trolley wheels from procurement but haven’t received them yet. We’re short on trolleys, so what to do? It’s very busy.”

A simple reminder: in hospitality, even small issues — like a noisy wheel — can affect the guest experience and leave them wondering what’s going on.

“Fix the wheel before it rolls away with your service standards and reputation “
